Anne Bonny's Bar and Grill - Wilmington, North Carolina

If you find yourself in Wilmington, North Carolina most likely you will wander along the Riverwalk.  If you do this with your kiddos then you will probably need to eat to keep spirits up. You will definitely happen upon Anne Bonny's Bar and Grill as we did.  We were all starving and this restaurant/barge on the water seemed like a super fun place to eat lunch. Unfortunately, there was an hour long wait. We couldn't handle that so we had to go somewhere else.  I thought the place looked so cute that I made a point to get us there as soon as they opened the next day because reservations are available for groups of six or more (anybody want to join our family?) only.  We were the first people there so we got a lovely high top table.  It was a beautiful warm day and a fantastic breeze was blowing through the open air barge. There is a small bar in the corner of the restaurant that makes some darn good libation creations.  Although the drink menu is creative I went with the old stand by Pina Colada because it's my fave. The food and service was good and we had a great lunch.  It's a great place for families or adults, who just want to booze, or both, just don't fall off the barge. Side note: There are boat tours on a paddle boat directly next to the restaurant. Sadly, they were closed but it looked fun.

A Restaurant on a Barge!

The focus of this picture is meant to be the bar (sorry Lou). This place has lots of fun drinks fit for being on the water.

I love a good drink menu.

If you like Pina Coladas, then have a fun debate with your husband on how to pronounce Pina or get caught in the rain. $7

Fabulously priced kid's menu.

Chicken Tenders and Fries $5

Grilled Shrimp and Fries $5

Garden Salad with Shrimp $13

Shrimp Platter, Blackened $15

My crew chilin' on the barge.
