The Pilot House Restaurant - Wilmington, North Carolina

One of the largest attractions in Wilmington, North Carolina is the boardwalk.  Along the boardwalk there are a few restaurants to choose from.  On this particular day, at this particular time the whole crew was getting hangry.  We tried a few places to eat but they all had very long waits.  This gem was towards the end of the boardwalk.  You can enter The Pilot House Restaurant from the front or the back.  We came in thru the front of the house.  The inside of the restaurant is full of charm but it was such a beautiful day we wanted to sit outside.  We were fortunate enough to be seated right away. Phew!  Blood sugar is ready to rise. The boys had grabbed a free tourist map along the way and made up a game to play at the table.  They are great at coming up with things to do and it is a blessing from above because I did not have three boys so I could entertain them.  They have each other! Our waiter was lovely and the food was tasty, the view was the highlight though.  It was so pleasant and relaxing. My main tip for dining out in Wilmington (unless you are good with Jimmy Johns) is to get RESERVATIONS if you can.  Nothing is worse than wandering around hangry with even hangrier kids. I like Open Table the best for making reservations.

The Pilot House Restaurant is in this adorable historic house.
