Raleigh, North Carolina - Morgan Street Food Hall

My husband, Jon, owns a food hall. This means that wherever we go, if there is a food hall within a million miles, we have to see it. Morgan Street Food Hall is pretty impressive.  It has many vendors, so lots of food options to choose from. We went on a Sunday and there was a decent crowd.  The outdoor bar was full of people. Inside was a maze of food stalls with sporadic seating (this may have been due to Covid). The boys and I were pretty overwhelmed when walked in.  Gus (12) and I are not fans of crowded areas that we are not familiar with so our instinct is to run for a seat in a corner.  Jon made us do a lap first. We split up, him finding some interesting food for us to try and me looking for picky kid friendly food. I found a corner table for the boys and parked them there.  There was a burger stall and pizza stall that had my kids' name on them.  Pizza was closed so burgers it was.  I ordered a burger and hot dog for boys to split (this wasn't our only food hall stop of the day so I needed to tread lightly). I paid and they gave me a buzzer to take to my table to alert me when the food was ready.  When the food was ready I went back to collect the food.  Below are pictures of what we ate, what we did, and all of our pros and cons.

Cousins Maine Lobster

Lobster Tail and Tots $17.25
Expensive and blah choice from an otherwise interesting menu.  Geeze Jon.

The Katsu

Teriyaki Chicken Katsu Sandwich $9
Tasty but boring, not sure what was wrong with Jon's decision maker.

CowBar Burger and Fries

Burger and Hot Dog (duh)
I didn't write down prices and website has no menu. Not super expensive if I remember correctly.

Outdoor Bar Area That We Would Have Enjoyed Without Children

Some Game They Play That I Love Because It Requires Nothing But Hands.

Pros and Cons by Us

Lou (9)

Pros: I liked to hear the "plunk" of axe throwing. (There is an axe throwing stall near to where we were sitting, Lord help me if I had let them get a close up look)
Cons: I didn't like how close everything was.

Jon (Oldest)

Jon likes to use fancy words.

Pros: I liked the density and variety.  I like being overwhelmed.
Cons: Lack of seating and lack of unified system of food delivery.

 Gus (12)

Pros: I liked the hot dog.
Cons: I didn't like that it was too enclosed.

Beth (Old)

Pros: Lot's of choices, lively if drinking, which we weren't.
Cons: Too crowded and claustrophobic with kids.

Ted (11)

Pros: I liked the diversity of food.
Cons: I didn't like how enclosed the space was.
